Lucien Chouinard

Since he was 13 and started working part time as a labourer for a roofing company, Lucien Chouinard has had the same personal motto.

“Be fair to everyone and to treat others the way you want to be treated.”

Lucien is the Founder and President of Chouinard Bros. Roofing, the company he started with his brother Ernest in 1972. Before that Lucien worked his way from labourer, to roofer, to estimator, to foreman and finally to establishing Chouinard Bros. Roofing. He started working with custom home builders and small firms and as he says, “we grew as they grew”.

Lucien and his wife Cathy have grown the business from the garage of their first home to offices in Scarborough and Markham, to the current location in Aurora where they have more than 50 full time employees and subcontract work to hundreds of roofers.

Lucien is as committed to his roofers as he is to his customers. He is forward focused, open to new ideas and to using new materials and technology when they add value for his customers. Chouinard Bros. is a forerunner in promoting professionalism, education and safety in the roofing industry. We employ a full-time safety representative and provide in-house safety courses on a regular basis.

Chouinard Bros. is a member of both the Residential Roofing Contractors’ Association and the Greater Toronto Home Builders’ Association.

Today Chouinard Bros. is one of the largest residential roofing contractors in the GTA. The success and growth of the company is attributed to its values and principles, which have remained exactly the same since the company started over 40 years ago.
